Acupuncture can help with IVF! 

Recent research has shown that having acupuncture before and during an IVF cycle increases the chances of a successful outcome.

In a survey of 160 women undergoing IVF, half were given acupuncture.  "The  report published in the journal Fertility and Sterility found the pregnancy rate in the group receiving acupuncture group was 42.5%, compared to the group which did not receive the therapy, where the rate was 26.3%."

In my clinic over 70% of the IVF patients I have treated in the last two years have become pregnant.  Patients who have had previous IVF cycles without acupuncture have reported the following differences when undergoing IVF with acupuncture:

• It was a lot less stressful.
• Side effects of the IVF drugs were reduced.
• Measurable improvements in the number and quality of follicles produced.
• Measurable improvement in FSH levels.
• Measurable increase in the number of good embryos resulting from the IVF.
• Much less discomfort during the egg collection and embryo transfer procedures.
• Feeling much calmer and happier about the whole process.
• And last but not least, actually conceiving in many cases!

It is best to start acupuncture as early as possible, i.e. before the IVF drug treatment begins, but starting later in the IVF cycle is still worthwhile.
